CrossFit is too hard”

Is CrossFit suitable for you?

Quite simply, CrossFit is absolutely suitable for every individual, regardless of the sport history, physical condition and age. Your needs and the Olympic athlete’s differ by degree not kind. Increased power, speed, strength, cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy are each important to the world’s best athletes and to our grandparents. The most important concept of CrossFit is “functional movement,” which basically means a movement or exercise that has a real life function. In real world situations, those movements could translate to, running to catch an airplane, or lifting your kid on your shoulders or squatting to pick something off the ground.

The misconception of a person who’s considering starting CrossFit is the fact that you’ll immediately start doing highly complex movements and heavy loads.

This is absolutely not true!

The beauty of CrossFit is that you can start with those very basic movements and progress upwards in complexity and load as your fitness increases.

The bottom line is CrossFit is a fitness program that starts with the very basics and scales up in intensity, complexity, and load as your fitness level increases. Because it focuses on functional movements it’s relevant to everyday life, and therefore applicable to everyone. The most important qualities to start CrossFit are that you have a desire to be functionally fit, enjoy working hard, and not be afraid to get started!
